Council and administration
A word fromthe Mayor
On Tuesday May 11, our community as we know it changed.
Our Mayor, Mr. Paul Viau, passed away suddenly, we were and still are in shock as we mourn together.
Paul dedicated his life to serving the community which he so loved, he always wanted the best for the people.
Paul worked hard thorough out his political career as both Councillor and Mayor of Hemmingford since 1983.
He was known and well respected by many not only in Hemmingford but throughout the MRC and various levels of the Provincial and Federal Governments.
People would refer to Paul as determined, committed, strong, an advocate for change wanting to create a healthier and safe environment for those he served.
In memory of Paul, together the Administration and Councillors of the Municipal Office will work hard to continue what Paul created and was so proud of.
Paul was larger than life, a kind and gentle man who will be sadly missed by so many.
We wish to thank all those who have sent their many expressions of sympathy, another testimony to the person Paul was.
The Administration and the Councillors of the Township of Hemmingford offer their deepest condolences to Pauls’ family, his wife Nicole, his son Paul Jr, his daughter Melanie and their families.
Safe Journey Mr. Mayor, Rest in Peace.
